ABOUT

Traditional meets alternative

Christine Shelley is a chartered physiotherapist with a passion for helping individuals achieve optimal wellness. With a philosophy rooted in natural healing, Christine combines a traditional medical background with alternative techniques to support her clients’ health. Her mission is to empower individuals to take control of their well-being through gentle, profound, holistic practices.

Christine Shelley graduated as a chartered physiotherapist from Queen Margaret College, Edinburgh in 1990, and worked in a variety of clinical settings from NHS teaching hospitals to a GP surgery and from occupational health to private practices. At weekends she worked with Manchester Storm ice-hockey team, Broughton Park Rugby Club and the British Judo girls cadet squad.

However, her traditional medical model of how to treat pain was turned upside down when she took a course in craniosacral therapy, something which, at the time, she knew very little about. She took this course primarily in an attempt to resolve her own frustrating hip pain, which was not responding to conventional physiotherapy. This course challenged and changed her perception of how to treat pain, and led her to incorporate craniosacral therapy into her treatment approach, which continues to evolve.
